The Holy Days

Christmas time is in the air and the commerce of the season is just too much!

Thank goodness I'm in the middle of a long sort'a kind'a break...

It all started with last Fridays's Eid of our Muslim brothers but on the eve of that, I joined my wife's cousin and family for a Thanksgiving dinner which was of course attended by almost 2 dozens of family members. A Filipino gathering plus a Pinoy-US permanent resident aunt and cousin dinner won't be complete without the mean machine : Videoke machine!

Saturday, Sunday and Monday went by like a wink of an eye, thanks to loads of family life.

Tuesday, that is today everyone is in school and I'm left here all alone. I have finished last night the final episode of the video game Plants versus Zombies and heck, it's double the effort compared to playing 1 minute chess games.

Tomorrow, our school is still closed but I'll give chess lesson to my newest student, Heinzi then by eleven in the morning, me and the gang: Ricky, Sherwin, Renan, Gary will go south at Mr. Em's studio and rehearse a couple of songs for our Talent Show by December 17. We'll be playing three songs and I don't know yet the final cut but for sure we'll have to enjoy the bonding as much as the music.

I'll be off in awhile and I have borrowed a couple of classics from my mom's movie collection (Fiddler on The Roof,  A Streetcar Named Desire) and at least 5 NBA DVD's from my very special brother Jay's Collection.

I have quit San Mig Light and all the night life it brings but I have never enjoyed life without the following:

1. Wife and kids
2. A good book
3. Prayers
4. Chess games and everything it gives
5. A good movie (alone or with wifey)
6. Basketball games (whether it's me on the floor or I'm on the sidelines)
7. Blogging
8. Mafia Wars
9. Ice Cream
10. Students around

Oh well!

16 year old GM Wesley of Bacoor Cavite is the golden nugget of the World Chess Cup 2009. I hope he reaches the top of the tournament.

Bye for now my beloved fellow bloggers and readers!
